Sentencing

It was one of those days here in the City/Bay Area where the rain has given me license to have my coffee at home. I had every excuse to stay in and no real reason to go out, until my appointment to have a mammogram at 3:30 pm. I would have preferred to stay home with my coffee and keep writing, but once the procedure was done I felt the need to find the world and love it until I receive my diagnosis (10 days).

All tiredness and need for comfort disappeared and I was wearing my rain gear and Timbuk2 bag (a brightly-colored one...I have black-wear and therefore need something glowing on my person in traffic) and walked from CPMC (California Street campus) to the little shopping center two blocks down. I took the reward of Books Inc...didn't buy anything, but gained inspiration to read by looking at a cluster f*** of books. Then I stepped back out into the downpour and danced down the street to the 44, splashing in puddles and getting thoroughly plastered and cold like a kid. I could do that. I just did laundry and I was going home to change and curl up on the couch with tea. The glory of heavy rain. The glory of staying home but having fun where it's rediculous to do so.

I love it here. Alone.
