In the End, It Just Comes Back to This...

In case you have never read it.

*****

My therapy sessions over the past two to three weeks have been a vague mixture of checklists on how to "treat" myself and how to make myself look better.

My mother would read the second clause there and frown.

My mother never wore makeup. She also only wore perfume for SPECIAL occasions (someone's wedding, funeral, etc), and never dyed her hair, plucked her eyebrows, or had her teeth straightened.

Now the argument is up that I should have the gaps taken out of my mouth with either Lumineers or Invisilign. Proponents of this argument were my therapist and my boss. My boss also mentioned that I might start wearing eyeliner. (I wear mascara and lip gloss and an SPF-ed lotion and that's about it.) These people meet well, because they are worried because I have given up on finding my life's mate, but wouldn't it be wonderful to live the fairy tale?

The Rabbit's fairy tale?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone fell in love with Real?

I do dream on.

California u say, indeed.

If it makes u feel any better, i have lots of "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" issues here for myself as well. most of mine have to do with what is allowed or not allowed in talking....

Ah yes...

I encountered that, too. There was supposed to be a tolerance here that you couldn't find in the Midwest.

But the tolerance promised is just a different religion, with the same hard and fast rules as the Midwest.

Learning to live with it though...maybe someday these people will learn to love and live with me.

Best to you for the Rome reference, DK. :)
